A Long Way Off



JASON BURKEY plays the lead role of Jacob. Burkey is a promising young actor who came on the film scene only five years ago, and since then has become highly recognized for his work in the Sony Film, October Baby. He has also been cast in For The Glory, Lukewarm, and A Matter of Time. In his short career, Burkey has been cast in leading and supporting roles in 19 feature and television films. and several television pilots. Burkey began his career as a commercial actor, and moved into theater acting ten years ago. He has been featured in lead and supporting roles in more than half a dozen plays. His impressive resume reads like that of a 20 year veteran.

ROBERT DAVI as Frank.  Davi has held lead or supporting roles in more than 120 films. From his portrayal of James Bond villain Franz Sanchez, as well as FBI profiler Bailey Malone in "Profiler" (1996), Robert Davi is one of the film industry's most recognized tough guys, whether on the big screen or on television. His tough exterior masks a powerful inner sensitivity, which he calls upon for his most notorious roles. Currently in syndication, The Profiler struck a chord with audiences, paving the way for such syndicated TV shows as "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (2000), "Without a Trace" (2002), "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" (2001) and many others. 

His big break came when he was cast opposite Frank Sinatra in the telefilm Contract on Cherry Street (1977), and he has gone on to work in projects with Marlon Brando, Roberto Benigni, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Clint Eastwood, Benicio Del Toro, Danny Glover and Adam Sandler, to name a few. 

Among his many notable film credits are Die Hard (1988), The Goonies (1985), Son of the Pink Panther (1993), Licence to Kill (1989), Raw Deal(1986) and Showgirls (1995). In  2002 Davi produced and starred in Hitters (2002), and is cast in the lead role for the 2013 release of The Bronx Bull. Over the past year Davi has been on world tour in promotion of his latest album, Davi Sings Sinatra.
EDIE McCLURG as Mrs. Grey. Edie's career-long devotion to satirical improvisation included an impressive tenure with The Groundlings. She went on to create original characters, performed on the daytime "The David Letterman Show" (1980): Mrs. Marv Mendenhall, Dot Duncan, Whirly June Pickens, Officer Jeanelle Archer, 105-year-old Edie, etc. TV has been a home to many of Edie's characters--on "The Richard Pryor Show" (1977); as Lucille Tarlek, wife of mega-obnoxious ad salesman Herb Tarlek on "WKRP in Cincinnati" (1978); and as Mrs. Poole on "Valerie" (1986).

Her movie career growth paralleled her ten years with The Groundlings. Her first film was the teen horror favorite Carrie (1976). She did several John Hughes films, including Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986), Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987), She's Having a Baby (1988) and _Curly Sue (1990)_. Offbeat cult faves are Eating Raoul (1982), Elvira: Mistress of the Dark (1988), HBO's The Pee-wee Herman Show (1981) (TV) and Martin Mull's The History of White People in America (1985) (TV). In recent years McClurg has been providing voice talent in box office animated hits like Cars, Cars 2, Scooby-Doo, Pirates Ahoy, and numerous others.

JOHN DIEHL as Abraham, Jake's father.  Diehl's body of work spans 30 years. His career began in the early 80s with a number of bit parts in movies such as Escape from New York (1981) with Kurt Russell and Stripes (1981) with Bill Murray amongst others before landing a co-starring role in the pilot for "Miami Vice" (1984) playing Hawaiian shirt clad Detective Larry Zito. He continued his role in "Miami Vice" (1984) for three series before quitting to pursue other roles. He continued his film career and has since appeared in over 80 movies and has made over 40 guest appearances on TV. Notable film credits include The Client (1994), A Time to Kill (1996), Stargate (1994), Nixon (1995) and more recently Pearl Harbor (2001) and a role as dinosaur chow in Jurassic Park III (2001).


JORDON RHODES as Mr. Foster, is best known for his black on black seemingly "Johnny Cash" style. He has more then thirty-years of film, television and stage credits. He has been cast in supporting roles in All the King's Men, Mister Majestyk, The Indian Runner, etc., Currently Jordan is working on his stage show "Papa - The Man, The Myth, The Legend" which is a tribute to the great Ernest Hemingway. Jordan portrays Hemingway perfectly, following Hemingway's life from the battle fields of WWI to the Spanish bullfights, all culminating with the last day of the great literary artist's life, July 2, 1961. "Papa" is a two character fully realized Broadway style show staring Jordan Rhodes and his wife Lynn Moore.
ZOE MYERS as Summer. Zoe Myers is a full time actress who divides her time between Los Angeles and Atlanta. Zoe recently had a reappearing role on the popular TV series "Necessary Roughness" on USA Network. She's shot several lead and starring roles in feature films, including the role of Lisa in "Premature" by director Dan Beers, the indie feature "Catania," "Perdition," and the "Untitled Horror Film" by Spirit World Pictures. (All of these will premiere in 2013.) Zoe plays the lead in the feature film, "Destiny Road," that will premiere this month from Uptone Pictures.  Zoe is attached to three more feature films through early next year.

Past acting roles include feature films "ATL", "Dance of the Dead," "Isolation," and the series "My Mother/Agent" (she starred in and co-wrote the series). Zoe also had a recurring role in "Game Night, Season 2" for which she was awarded "best supporting actress" at the LA Webfest. She has starred in several music videos, including Simple Plan's "When I'm Gone" and the Jonas Brothers' "Year 3000" as well as videos by The Veronicas, Raul Midon, A Skylit Drive, Rocket Summer and Head Automatica. She's also done a skit on The Jay Leno show, hosted the Bratz Dolls Fashion DVD collection and was in interstitial commercials for the CW's Veronica Mars series.

ROBERT AMAYA as Jose, Narrator, Farm Hand. Amaya is a bilingual actor/singer with a solid background in theater. He has been privileged to perform regionally for classic productions such as "You Can't Take It With You" and "A Midsummer's Night Dream"; and for award winning musicals the likes of "Les Miserables" and "Miss Saigon.".


Robert received his breakout role as Javier in the newest Sherwood Film, COURAGEOUS. He felt humbled and honored playing this character because it reminded him of his own father's struggles to survive in a new country with a family. He has also worked on OCTOBER BABY released in March of 2012, and is currently portraying the role of "Pedro" in the highly anticipated film, UNLIMITED, to be released 2013.

He is married to his high school sweetheart, Colleen, also an actress and vocalist; and is the father of a young daughter, Sophia. He is the son of immigrant parents Roberto and Maria Amaya, who have previously been in full time ministry.

JOHANNA JOWETT as Laura. Johanna Jowett has had the pleasure of working with Uptone Pictures on 'A Box for Rob," and on "Destiny Road." As A graduate of Winthrop University, Johanna studied theatre and dance. She currently lives in Charlotte, NC, where she is continuing those studies with JD Lewis at The Actor's Lab. Johanna can also be seen in "Life As We Know It," on Seventh Street Theatre, and on One Tree Hill.

DAVID BLAMY as Seth, Jake's brother. A native of Michigan, Dave Blamy earned his B.A. in English form Michigan State University. After four years of teaching high school, he decided to once again become a student, earning his Masters Degree in English (University of North Carolina at Wilmington) and recently graduating with a Ph.D. in playwriting (Texas Tech University). It was at Texas Tech, as a Teaching Assistant in the Theatre Department, where Dave discovered his love for acting. After earning “Best Actor” awards for two consecutive years, Dave moved to his current home, Charlotte, North Carolina, where he continues to get recognized for his work. He has been nominated numerous times for various awards, winning two Metrolina Theatre Association Awards (“Best Lead Actor in a Comedy,” and “Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy”), as well as the Creative Loafing Award for “Best Lead Actor in a Comedy” for his work as Richard Hannay in the critically heralded play “The 39 Steps.”


A professional actor for the past six years, Dave Blamy has appeared in over twenty feature films and television shows, as well as several dozen national and regional commercials (Verizon, Tums, Time Warner Cable, Sunoco, Bojangle’s, and Char Broil, to name just a few). Dave recently enjoyed a Guest Starring role as the arrogant Dr. Gavin Hayes on the Lifetime Network’s hit show, “Army Wives” (with Catherine Bell and Kim Delaney). He can also soon be seen in the highly anticipated television series, “Banshee,” premiering on Cinemax in early 2013, in addition to the upcoming movie, “Destiny Road,” due out in American theatres soon. Dave currently lives in Charlotte with his wife, Jennifer, and their three young children.


SEAN HANNITY as himself. Hosts his popular talk radio show on 77WABC Radio in New York City and Hannity of the Fox News Channel. is a television host, author, and conservative political commentator. He is the host of The Sean Hannity Show, a nationally syndicated talk radio show that airs throughout the United States on Premiere Radio Networks. Hannity also hosts a cable news show, Hannity, on Fox News Channel. Hannity has written three New York Times–bestselling books:[1][2] Let Freedom Ring: Winning the War of Liberty over Liberalism, Deliver Us from Evil: Defeating Terrorism, Despotism, and Liberalism, and Conservative Victory: Defeating Obama’s Radical Agenda.Has been a broadcast journalist for nearly 30 years. Hannity was fired from his first radio job on a college station in Santa Barbara, CA, for an incident in which a guest on his show, an avowed white supremacist, made a string of inflammatory racial remarks, which the station said Hannity encouraged. He then went to a radio station in Huntsville, Alabama, where his ultra-conservative political views found favor, and eventually got a national show on WABC/770 in New York.
SCOTT RASMUSSEN as himself.  Rasmussen is the founder and president of Rasmussen Reports. He is an American political analyst, New York Times bestselling author, speaker, and public opinion pollster.[3] Rasmussen's political commentary is distributed through a daily email newsletter, an online video service, syndicated radio, and a nationally syndicated weekly newspaper column. Earlier in his professional life he co-founded the sports network ESPN.

GERALD MCGLOTHLIN is President of Special Guests, Inc., and its television and film division, CleanTV and PRODIGALFILM, LLC. As a talk show agent for 26 years, Jerry has provided expert guests to a wide variety of programs, including Oprah, The Today Show, Good Morning America, Jay Leno, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity and hundreds of other popular talk shows.


Jerry has worked with numerous celebrities, including Barbara Walters and the late, great Ed McMahon, who Jerry personally placed on many dozen talk shows as a guest. Along with having his articles and editorials published in newspapers, including USA Today, The Chicago Tribune and The Washington Times, Jerry has been featured in articles in the Washington Post and The New York Times.


During the course of his publicity career, Jerry has helped promote and launch numerous popular films, including the Left Behind movie franchise.

CHRISTY MCGLOTHLIN is Vice President of Special Guests, Inc., and its television/film division, CleanTV, and PRODIGALFILM, LLC. She has produced a variety of programs and is currently working on a full-length feature film production. An author of two books on natural health, Christy has been a regular guest on news and talk shows focusing on lifestyle and health topics. Christy is also the founder/editor of Faith Issues, an online publication serving the faith community. As a professional model for years, Christy has appeared on billboards, in catalogs and on many web sites.
MICHAEL DAVIS is producer/director of the film. His company Uptone Pictures has produced and/or directed a number of projects over the past 14 years. From animated film, television programs and documentaries, the vision has been to reach and inspire people in as many formats as possible. Uptone first acquired the distribution rights to two titles THE BOARD and CLIPPING ADAM, two feature films now in stores. Over the past three years Davis has produced three feature films: A BOX FOR ROB in 2010, DESTINY ROAD in 2011 and DON'T PASS ME BY in 2012. Michael B. Davis, a native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, currently lives in the Raleigh, NC area. His leadership, creative insight, visionary abilities, and international network of strategic partners forms the foundation for his dynamic company, Uptone Pictures.
